Cisco Collaboration Certification Practice Exams

Cisco's Collaboration track certifies the engineers who run contact centers, Webex hybrid deployments, and unified communications infrastructure. This category covers the specialist and CCNP-concentration exams that prove it — not generic "team collaboration" skills.

What  Collaboration Field of Certification Actually Covers

"Collaboration" as a certification category is dominated by one vendor: Cisco. Where networking and security have crowded, vendor-neutral options (CompTIA, (ISC)², PMI), collaboration certification is almost entirely built around Cisco's own Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Webex, Contact Center Enterprise (CCE), and Expressway product lines. There is no vendor-neutral equivalent to CCNA Security or Network+ in this space — if you're certifying in collaboration technology, you are almost certainly certifying in Cisco's ecosystem, or in a narrower adjacent credential like Microsoft's Teams administrator exam (MS-700), which lives in Microsoft's 365 track rather than here.

Within Cisco's own portfolio, "Collaboration" splits into three practical sub-areas: core UC infrastructure (call control, voice, video, messaging), contact center operations (ICM scripting, agent routing, Finesse), and cloud/hybrid Webex deployment (Expressway, Mobile and Remote Access, Webex hybrid services). The three exams currently available for practice on this site — 500-442 CCEA, 300-820 CLHCT, and 700-695 CSaaSSE — map to contact center administration, hybrid cloud collaboration, and (historically) partner presales authorization, respectively. These areas also involve Data Analytics for monitoring collaboration performance, analyzing contact center operations, and supporting data-driven decisions.

How the Certifications in Collaboration Category Relate to Each Other

Cisco's Collaboration certifications sit at Specialist, Professional (CCNP), and Expert (CCIE) levels. None of them are truly entry-level in the way CCNA is for networking — Cisco recommends familiarity with UC fundamentals (via its non-exam CLFNDU course) before attempting any of them, but doesn't require a prerequisite exam.

Note that passing 300-820 CLHCT doesn't earn CCNP Collaboration on its own — you also need the 350-801 CLCOR core exam, which this site does not currently cover.

Who Should Start Where

If you administer a Cisco Contact Center Enterprise deployment — building ICM scripts, managing agent teams, configuring precision routing — 500-442 CCEA is the direct match and the Unified Contact Center Enterprise Specialization is the credential it feeds.

If your day-to-day work is Webex hybrid connectors, Expressway edge configuration, or Mobile and Remote Access, 300-820 CLHCT is the relevant exam, and it's also one path toward CCNP Collaboration once you've passed the CLCOR core exam elsewhere.

If you're a reseller or systems-integrator employee trying to qualify for Cisco's Collaboration SaaS Authorization Program's PreSales Engineer role, 700-695 CSaaSSE is no longer the live requirement — see the note below before planning around it.

There's genuinely no good on-ramp here for someone brand-new to collaboration technology with zero Cisco UC experience; these are working-engineer exams, not career-starter exams.

How Collaboration Category's Certifications Are Viewed by Employers

Recognition is real but narrower than Cisco's flagship Enterprise or Security tracks. Inside organizations that run Cisco UC infrastructure — CUCM, CCE, Webex Calling with on-prem integration — these certifications carry genuine weight with hiring managers and are often tied directly to job requirements or Cisco partner-tier obligations. Outside that context, a CCEA or CLHCT credential means little to a generalist IT recruiter the way a CCNP Enterprise or a security certification would. It's a specialist's credential for a specialist's niche, not a broad resume signal.

Typical Career Paths Collaboration Category Supports

Collaboration certifications map most directly to roles like Contact Center Engineer, UC/Voice Administrator, Collaboration Engineer, and Webex Hybrid/Cloud Engineer. At the CCIE Collaboration level, the natural progression is into Collaboration Architect or principal engineer roles designing multi-site voice and video deployments. On the partner side, authorization-track exams like CSaaSSE (while active) supported PreSales Engineer roles at Cisco resellers and integrators rather than end-customer IT jobs.

What's Changing in Collaboration Field Right Now

Two concrete changes matter for anyone planning a Collaboration certification path in late 2026:

Cisco restructured the entire CCNP Collaboration track on February 3, 2026, introducing a roughly even split between cloud and on-premises content. The 300-820 exam was renamed from CLCEI to CLHCT and updated to v2.0 as part of that change, and Cisco added a new concentration exam (300-830 CLCCE) alongside updates to CLCOR, CLICA, and CLAUTO. If you're studying from older material that still references "CLCEI," confirm it's been updated.

Separately, 700-695 CSaaSSE — Cisco's PreSales Engineer exam for the Collaboration SaaS Authorization Program — was retired on November 30, 2024. Cisco's partner authorization requirements for that role have since moved on; anyone currently pursuing SaaS Authorization status should check Cisco's partner program page directly for the exam that now fulfills the PreSales Engineer requirement rather than targeting 700-695.
