Practice Test 1
IntermediateThe Oracle Cloud Infrastructure AI Foundations Associate exam, coded 1Z0-1122-26, is Oracle’s beginner certification for artificial intelligence concepts and the AI services available on Oracle Cloud. It suits students, business users, developers, analysts and cloud professionals who want a structured introduction to machine learning, generative AI and Oracle’s AI portfolio. No coding or prior AI experience is expected, which makes it a practical first credential before moving to more specialized Oracle or multi cloud AI paths.
What This Certification Validates
This credential shows that you can explain core AI ideas and match them to Oracle’s tools. That means telling AI, machine learning, deep learning and generative AI apart, describing how large language models are prompted and adapted, and recognizing which Oracle service fits a described business problem. The exam is conceptual. You will not be asked to write code or build a model.
Oracle refreshed its certifications in 2026 and removed calendar years from credential titles, though exam codes still identify the version. Study material written for 1Z0-1122-25 or earlier may describe a different set of topics, so confirm any resource covers the 2026 version.
Eligibility and Prerequisites
Oracle does not require any prior AI or machine learning knowledge, programming experience, or earlier certification for this exam. You do need an Oracle account (a MyLearn profile). Your profile name should match your government ID, because identity checks are part of the online exam process. If the names differ, Oracle directs candidates to submit a name change request in CertView before testing.
Exam Format and Structure
The exam is multiple choice and runs for 60 minutes. Oracle’s public pages for the 2026 version do not clearly show the question count or passing score. Third party sites report figures such as 40 questions and a 65 percent pass mark, but these are not consistent across sources and may reflect older versions. Treat them as unconfirmed and read the exam page in MyLearn before you begin Looking for another practice test? Try Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant for free.
Candidates take the exam online through Oracle MyLearn. Study resources describe automated proctoring that uses a browser extension, a webcam and ID verification, with no test center visit or appointment. Your score report is available in Oracle CertView.
Exam Domains
Oracle’s free learning path and exam objectives cover seven topic areas. The weights below are reported by study resources and have not been confirmed on a public Oracle page, so verify them before building a study plan around percentages
Intro to AI Foundations (about 10%): AI basics, common applications, data types, and how AI, machine learning and deep learning relate.
Intro to ML Foundations (about 15%): supervised learning for regression and classification, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning.
Intro to DL Foundations (about 15%): neural networks, convolutional networks for images, and sequence models such as RNNs and LSTMs.
Intro to Generative AI and LLMs (about 15%): generative AI overview, large language models, transformers, prompt engineering, instruction tuning and fine tuning.
Get started with OCI AI Portfolio (about 15%): an overview of OCI AI services, OCI Data Science, GPU based AI infrastructure and responsible AI.
OCI Generative AI and Oracle 23ai (about 10%): the OCI Generative AI service, Select AI for natural language queries, and Oracle Vector Search.
Intro to OCI AI Services (about 20%): OCI Language, Vision, Document Understanding and Speech, including what each does and which suits a given scenario.
One naming detail: Oracle now calls the database release Oracle AI Database 26ai, yet the exam topics still use the 23ai name.
How to Register
There is no separate booking step like a traditional test center exam. Create or sign in to your Oracle MyLearn profile, find the exam listing for 1Z0-1122-26 (marked as the new version), and follow the launch instructions there. Check the exam page for current rules on identity verification, system requirements and retakes, since Oracle can change these. Oracle’s official course for this certification is also free on MyLearn, and taking it first helps because the exam wording tracks its terminology.
What This Certification Is Recognized For
Its value is strongest in Oracle focused environments. Companies running Autonomous Database, Oracle Cloud applications or OCI workloads increasingly use features such as Select AI and vector search, and this exam is built around exactly those. It signals that you can speak accurately about Oracle’s AI services before taking on project work.
It is a foundations credential, not proof of hands on engineering skill. Oracle also offers related free Foundations certifications, including OCI Foundations Associate for general cloud infrastructure and an Agentic AI Foundations Associate (1Z0-1157-26), so candidates often use this exam as one step in a broader Oracle path.
Preparing for the Exam
Work through Oracle’s course, then list every OCI service you cannot describe in a single sentence. Services carry the heaviest reported weight, so be ready to say what OCI Language, Vision, Speech and Document Understanding each take as input and produce as output. Practice sorting scenarios into the right learning type, such as classification versus clustering.
When you want to check your readiness, the free practice tests on AllExamQuestions.com give you exam style questions with explanations, so you can see which domains need another pass before you sit the exam.
