• Governance, Risk, Compliance, and Security for the Cloud (approximate based on syllabus, ~21%) — data privacy regulations, shared responsibility models, business continuity, and the compliance frameworks that come up when cloud decisions cross legal or regulatory lines.

Who actually sits for CLO-002 exam

The Cloud Essentials+ candidate pool looks different from a typical IT certification audience. It's business analysts and project managers who've been pulled into cloud migration projects and need shared vocabulary with the technical team. It's procurement and sales professionals at cloud vendors or MSPs who need to speak credibly about the products they're selling. It's IT managers and helpdesk staff who are technical enough to be curious but whose actual job doesn't touch cloud architecture. And it's a meaningful number of non-IT professionals — finance, operations, compliance — who need cloud literacy for a specific project rather than a career pivot into cloud engineering. If your job title has "engineer," "architect," or "administrator" in it and you're doing hands-on cloud work, CompTIA Cloud+ (CV0-004) is almost always the more relevant credential, not this one.
